Hawthorne School District - STEAM CARNIVAL

Clear your calendar - It's going down!
We’re on a mission to bring STEAM to communities nationwide with the STEAM Carnival (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math). The goal of the event is to inspire more creative thinkers, and doers, through playful, meaningful, immersive experiences. The STEAM Carnival champions the mindset that these multiple disciplines are seamlessly integrated into how people live, work, and play today.

The Hawthorne STEAM Carnival kicks off on May 19th, and you're invited to take part in the festivities. Come one, come all, bring a guest, and hang loose. This is going to be epic!

HAWTHORNE STUDENT PROJECTS

The main feature is student projects created in the classroom and through after school programs, alongside students' at-home inventions and contributions! Projects created include ones inspired by the Two Bit Circus Foundation’s Project Playbook.


COMMUNITY PARTNER & EXHIBITORS

The Call for Carny’s program attracts local STEAM mentors to show off their projects alongside the work of students. Exhibits by museums, local businesses with STEAM projects, and creative art installations can be included. (To showcase your own work, contact our event organizers to find out how!)


live music and hosts

The visual storytellers of the STEAM movement include high-tech costumed characters and Carnival-spirited acts. These performers are members of the community that bring performance and STEAM to life.


PROVIDED BY THE HAWTHORNE SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Hawthorne School District will provide low cost food items, such as hot dogs and beverages for the community to enjoy! Also check-out local dessert food trucks that will provide refreshing treats that may have a STEAM spin to them.
